For nearly nine years, I worked in Food & Beverage management across high-end hotels and fine-dining restaurants, with professional experience on four continents.
I learned to run operations where every decision has an immediate impact: costs, margins, inventory, teams, occupancy, customer retention, satisfaction, service quality and operational performance.
Over time, one thing became clear: companies often have plenty of data but lack a clear enough view to know where to act, what to prioritise and how to measure the impact of a decision.
I therefore chose to specialise in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence and data science to add an analytical layer to that field experience.
Pretoria BI grew out of that combination: understanding how a business operates in practice, then turning its data into useful signals, testable hypotheses and measurable levers for action.
My approach remains the same across sectors: first understand what creates or destroys value, identify the metrics that truly matter, then build the analysis and tools needed to decide with greater precision.
